Coldest Night of the Year (“Creekstriders”)
February 28, 2026
Join the “Creekstriders” by either walking or donating to help those in need in our community! Held each year in February, this beloved peer-to-peer fundraising walk equips local charities with everything they need to raise significant funds in support of people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

Adopt a Food Pantry
519 Community Collective has 24 Free Little Pantries located around KW and surrounding areas. These are stocked by community food donations and support families and individuals living with food insecurity right in your neighbourhood. 1 in 8 families in KW are accessing food banks for assistance and that number is rising. Locate a pantry near your home, place of work or grocery store and you can add non-perishable food items and hygiene items anytime at all.
Sandwich Making
600-800 sandwiches are needed every week to feed those living unhoused in our community. Time commitment is flexible.
Saturdays 10am-noon at a local church in Kitchener
Outreach Program
Be a part of a team handing out food, hygiene items and other necessities to those experiencing homelessness in Kitchener.
Tuesday or Friday evenings, Sunday afternoons.
Cambridge shifts also available upon request.

Mat Weavers
Volunteers come together to weave together milk bags to create sleeping mats for the homeless in the community. This takes place at the Creekside Church Waterloo Campus on Wednesday mornings from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
No sign up required. Coffee is usually offered during weaving hours.

Celebration Place (CP) is a program associated with Celebrate Recovery that focuses on partnering with parents or guardians who are attending Celebrate Recovery to provide tools that help break the cycle of dysfunction that is destroying so many of our families.
Every other week, lead a game or craft, fully prepped and provided for you, and spend time with elementary aged kids at CP.
