1. It is about parents publicly thanking God for the gift of their child. No doubt about it, children are an amazing gift that God has chosen to entrust to our care. Saying thank you in a public way like this really helps put God and our children in the right place.
2. It is about publicly committing to raise your child in a way that will honour God. None of us is a perfect parent but we can be great parents. God wants to help and so do we. But often it starts with a decision to be committed to parenting God’s way. That’s what parents are saying when they dedicate themselves to parent at a Family Dedication Celebration.
3. It is about surrendering your child to God’s plan for their lives. We do not know what God may have in store for our kids but we do know that his plan is the best plan. Parenting with that in mind is so critical to great parenting. We go public with this one.
4. It is about inviting others to help you be the parent you want to be. We believe it takes a village to raise a child. Lots of people will contribute to the health of your child and one of the key ones is the church. This is a chance to ask the church for help and for the church to commit to serving you in your role as a parent.
When are the Family Dedication Events?
Each year we hold one event in the fall (October/November), and one event in the spring (May/June). Our events are on a Saturday at both campuses.
Where do I register?
You can register by completing the registration form which will be available a few months prior to the event.
Do I have to do anything to participate in the dedication event?
Each family must attend the parent class prior to the dedication event. This event is held on a Sunday prior to the event.
