Christian Growth Profile
Spiritual growth is designed to be a team thing, where God, you and other believers are all key players. We encourage you to find a group of Christians who are willing to keep you accountable for the growth areas that you choose.
Why use this growth profile?
George Barna, a leading researcher of contemporary church trends, says, "... very few Christians really have any kinds of goals for what kind of believer or spiritual person they want to become, which is kind of like constantly making it up as we go along." At Creekside, our deep desire is to buck this trend! We want to provide you with a way to map out your spiritual growth and be purposeful about moving ahead with God (Ephesians 4:13).
How do I use this profile?
There is an introspective and a community aspect to this profile. For the introspective part, take some time to get alone with God and prayerfully study this profile. In what ways do you sense God wants to grow you? The community part is where accountability happens. Find a Small Group or with another Christian who is willing to check in on you and help you achieve the goals for the growth areas you choose. Page two describes and gives examples of growth areas, strategies, and accountability plans.
Why accountability?
Accountability provides motivation to follow through on areas of physical and spiritual growth. It also brings us closer together as a community of believers. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Why include physical goals like diet and proper rest in a spiritual exercise?
For the Christian, physical fitness should have a spiritual goal. Gods goal for our physical health is for us to be in good condition so we can serve him well (Col. 3:17).
